The Sandbox: What is it and who needs it?

In software development, what is a sandbox?

The idea of a “sand box” is a common on in software development. In any sophisticated software system, including complex Salesforce and Hubspot instances, a sand box is crucial to:

  • Prevent changes in development from impacting users
  • Ensure there is no loss of data
  • Better tests features, bug fixes and changes

Once everything is working in a sandbox, the code can be pushed to production without any fear of issues like data loss or bugs.

Does your organization need a sandbox?

Salesforce has its own sandbox that easily integrates with its platform.  So does Hubspot.  And then there are 3rd party sandboxes you can use as well.

There are full sandboxes and partial sandboxes. There are add-on features to protect or anonymize your data.

Do you need any of this - and if so, why?

We answer these questions and more in our short white paper, The Sandbox: What is it and who needs it?
